CLASS WITH A GLASS AND HUMANE SOCIETY OFFER VIRTUAL PAINT CLASS WITH A PURR-POSE
Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (WVHS) and local sip and paint studio, Class With a Glass, have partnered for an online painting class on July 8, 2020 at 6 p.m. The class, a fundraiser to benefit WVHS, features a painting created by Class With a Glass owner, Nancy Barrett specifically for pet lovers.
“When the Humane Society reached out about co-hosting a fundraiser and virtual paint class, I was thrilled.” Said Nancy Barrett, owner of Class with a Glass. “I created a new original designed for pet lovers, and during the virtual class I will help lead people through the step by step process of creating their own work of art with acrylic paints. Offering a virtual paint class through Zoom makes it more accessible for more folks and it's the first in what we're hoping to be a series to benefit the Humane Society.”
WVHS executive director, Dawn Davies, echoed Barrett’s excitement. “We’ve had to cancel several fundraisers this year due to the coronavirus threat. This is a great way to build a new partnership and provide an exciting way our donors can support the shelter, while having fun. And, we could all use some fun right now.”
The class will be offered on an online video conferencing platform and taught by Barrett herself. WVHS staff will share in the fun by providing information about WVHS and adoptable animals throughout the class. There may even be some pet guest appearances.
Cost is $24.99 per person and registration is online at https://classwithaglass.com/online-adult-classes. Those in need of paint or supplies can purchase an art kit during registration and arrange for curbside pickup at Class with a Glass’s location at 10 S. Columbia St. in Wenatchee.
Fifty percent of proceeds from this event will benefit the homeless animals of Wenatchee Valley Humane Society.
About WVHS
Founded in 1967, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization with a mission to serve Chelan and Douglas Counties through education, protection and pet adoptions. WVHS cares for displaced pets, rescues injured and lost animals, investigates animal cruelties, and finds homes for orphaned animals. WVHS engages in a Pets for Life philosophy by providing low cost spay/neuter programs, periodic vaccination clinics, and hosting pet food assistance banks to income-qualified residents throughout its community. By caring for pets and the people who love them, WVHS is creating a humane society in the Wenatchee Valley.
